The Korolev's Planet is posting a second batch of drawings sent in for the contest dedicated to Alexei Leonov.
At the requests of the visitors to the web site, the editorial board of the site extends the contest till September 20.

The editorial staff of «Planet of Korolev» portal starts publishing series of materials, devoted to Moon's exploration.

This series of materials is started by RSC «Energia» n.a. S.P. Korolev scientific consultant, Doctor of Engineering Science, the professor of Moscow State Technical University n.a. N.E. Baumann, Victor Vasilyevich Sinyavskiy, one of the authors of «The Moon is a step to Solar system exploration technologies» book, who tells about his own image of Moon's research and exploration necessity, feasible directions and technologies of human's expansion there in future.

Digital images and video materials from the Russian Segment of the International Space Station (ISS RS) obtained under space program Uragan are being successfully used in Russian high-schools and universities. They serve as perfect training aids for schoolchildren, students and teachers in the studies of physical, social, economic and political geography. The pictures provide beautiful visual imagery which, when combined with a map, is conducive to a more efficient perception of information.

Color pictures and video films from space help to learn about major Earth's spheres: lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere, as well as to learn about specifics of their interaction; they help to get acquainted with geography of continents and oceans. Materials from the ISS assist in studying landforms and Earth interior, the laws of atmospheric circulation and climate-forming factors, natural zones, water, soil and plant resources, as well as industry, power production, agriculture and transport. Pictures and video films from space allow studying the geography of the nations of the world and impact of human activities on the environment.

Developed within the framework of educational space experiment Great Start were detailed recommendations for teachers on how teach the pupils using Earth remote sensing data received from the ISS RS.

Hello, dear visitors of the "Korolev's Planet" website! Our report is again dedicated to medical research. This time we will talk about the experiment "Virtual". The experiment is conducted on the Russian Segment of the ISS to develop a methodology of reliability prediction of visual tracking in complicated dynamic and visual conditions causing disorientation and positional illusion. This medical experiment performed on the Russian segment was also developed by the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
As you know, cosmonauts are regularly involved in performing such critical tasks as spacecraft docking, control of the manipulator located on the external surface of the station associated with fixing visual sense on the object under control.
Since weightlessness significantly changes the activity of gravity-dependent systems and violates their regular evolutionarily-associated interaction, adaptation to weightlessness conditions is usually accompanied by certain sensorial abnormalities. The first evidence of microgravity action is appearance of illusions of the body position or movement in space, dizziness, difficulty in capturing and tracking visual objects. The state is often perceived as uncomfortable.
